Transitioning Into Historic Curtis Park

This new development of 3 duplexes is on the outer edge of Curtis Park Historic Neighborhood. The design concept was a development that eases the transition from the non-historic 4 story apartment building into the historic residential building heights. These duplexes are 3 stories with roof tops which are a mid-height between the 4-story apartment and 2-story houses. The historic commission agreed to a height variance to accommodate the increased height request. This allowed to fulfill the vision and provide city views from the roof. The materials, style, patterns, and plan were all inspired by the nature of Curtis Park and neighbors’ input.
