Champa Townhomes

Curtis Park, Denver, Colorado

Italianate style, multifamily function

This new 4 unit townhome project is in the Curtis Park Neighborhood, part of the Denver Housing Authority’s (DHA) redevelopment of Platte Valley Homes. Our initial proposal to DHA and Curtis Park Neighborhood was to fit in the architectural fabric of the neighborhood while aligning with the goals of DHA for the redevelopment. The RFP provided by DHA, noted a redevelopment goal to increase density, and create more mixed income communities. We recognized an opportunity through the zoning code to increase density on this lot specifically. Many submittals for this lot were for new single-family homes. Although this is a multifamily development, Curtis Park Neighborhood request was to make the building frontage that faces the park look like a single family Italianate building. We collectively worked with zoning, Landmark, and the neighborhood to create a successful project.
